FLAC is a compressing audio file with no quality loss that allows you to completely regain the original sound of the file, although the file size will be significantly larger.
iTunes doesn't have this feature by default, which is why it's necessary to draw on an application like Fluke to add it.

The three tools that Fluke installs in order to do this, are: XiphQT, FLACImporter and Set OggS.
If you want to add a FLAC file to the iTunes library the only thing you need to do is select it and drag it to the program's icon.
